Pilates is an exercise designed by German born, Joseph Pilates (1880-1968).  Pilates is intended to balance the body through breath, mental awareness, and controlled movements.  Pilates concentrates on core strength, enhancing posture, flexibility, muscular balance and ultimately, overall well being.

Since her introduction to Pilates, over six years ago, Tamara instantly became passionate about this exercise.  Pilates had such a positive influence on her life, she decided to pursue it as a career.  Tamara is a nationally certified Pilates instructor and has been teaching since 2004.  She is certified through Pilates Elite and the Pilates Method Alliance.  Tamara is experienced in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac and Wunda chair exercises.   Although Tamara’s training includes all aspects of traditional Pilates, her classes embody the Elite method.  The Elite method is a unique combination of traditional, east coast and west coast Pilates making it an effective and challenging modern style.
